I went to a bar in Jersey once called Destino.
    Probably not the same place.

Well this one is in SF. It is Nuevo Latin cuisine with a good wine list.

Glad to hear you had a great time @ Destino w/ your Mom, Aleman.

We went out during the dineabouttown, and I was very disappointed. I had the Lomo Saltado, which was pretty dry. The service was pretty bad and it was very loud in there.

I'm always wary of a "good deal" on food and dineabouttown can be good and be bad. Sometimes the restaurants can be halfassed, because of a "special deal" so they don't bother to really serve up the food as best as they can. Try it again Pengrin. It might taste better the next time around.

We went about 1 year ago and simply loved it, we got several small dishes and was able to sample a lot. I would say destino is definately a destination to hit.

What I love about the place is that they stick to their theme. They have wines from Central and South America. The food and the music also reflects the theme. Some restaurants tend to serve a type ofethnic cuisine but then serve wines, beers and even paly music which is not indicitve of the region the foods hail from. I dislike that imensely and appreciate a restaurant that can teleprot you to another place or make you feel you are not in Sf or a little while.
